The purveyor of high fashion, connoisseur of style, catwalk queen, originator of the “Naomi Campbell Walk” that Beyoncé sung about and one of the most beautiful people in the world just announced that she is a new Mother. On May 18th, just 4 days before her 51st birthday, Campbell took to Instagram to post a glimpse of her new baby girl; a snapshot of her cradling the baby’s tiny toes in her hand saying, “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.”
Rumors are that she may have enlisted the services of a surrogate after excerpts from a 2017 interview with the Evening Standard resurfaced. “I think about having children all the time, with science I can do it when I want,” said Campbell. On the latest episode of her YouTube show, “No Filter with Naomi,” she provides additional details to include sharing that she was present when the new baby was born. While speaking to her guest DNice, she talked about the importance of music in her life saying, “In my most special moments, you know I just became a Mom, I had Bob Marley playing. I mean that’s my roots.”
In the business for the last 30 years, the model, actress, businesswoman and former dancer has cemented her legacy in pop culture as a force of nature and one of the original six “supermodels.” While born in London, she is of Jamaican heritage, and at the age of eight years old appeared in the music video for “Is This Love?” by the legendary Bob Marley. So how fitting is that, considering Bob Marley’s music was playing in the background while her newest love was entering into the world.
